Ale Jan Homburg is internationally recognized for his contributions to the study of homoclinic bifurcations, random dynamical systems, and non-uniformly hyperbolic dynamics. Currently at the Korteweg–de Vries Institute for Mathematics of the University of Amsterdam and the Mathematical Institute of Leiden University, Ale Jan has mentored various generations of mathematicians, inspiring young researchers with his clarity, rigor, and generosity. His collaborations span the globe, and his work continues to be a point of reference for colleagues world-wide.
